Top Ryde City Marchese Partners were invited to participate in this project, by designing 450 residential apartments over the top of the proposed shopping centre. The design evolved from a perimeter arrangement of buildings around a large open landscaped podium of 3800m2. Five residential tower buildings of 6 to 10 storeys were sited to maximise distant views to the city and northern sunlight. The buildings were designed as a family of individuals that each have their own identity - as they will be constructed over a period of time. Serious technical and construction issues were resolved whilst maintaining a simple, appealing and consistent design philosophy throughout the development.
